On a Clear Day

On a clear day on a very very clear day......  Well , you guys all know the song. This was a gorgeous clear day with a bright blue sky. Winds were blowing briskly making the warmth of the sun a welcome feel. You can see some reflection in the pond, but you can also see the rippling effect of the wind on the water too. There were tons of ducks, geese, and red winged blackbirds in the area but unfortunately I didn't get any photos of them this time.

Silence of Nature

Late day sun shone down on this secluded area with lovely moss covered rocks and rushing waters. Just the perfect spot to sit and listen to the silence of nature!

Bridge Over Muddy Waters

We've had so much rain this spring that many large trees have uprooted. This happens to be one of them, and it fell straight across a big stream. It makes a perfect bridge to cross over from one side to the other. The waters are also muddied because of the rains.

Cracked

I just loved the pattern of this stone, and Cracked seemed an appropriate title.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Time

This idea of using parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme came to me when I was remembering some lyrics to an old song. It seemed appropriate for the challenge using the wrist watch. As you can see I interchanged the word thyme with time.

Fantastic Sunset 4

I was driving along as the sun was setting , I noticed in my rear view mirror the amazing color going on. I just had to pull over and take a few shots.

Abandoned Paper Mill

This is an image of whats left of a once prosperous old abandoned paper mill. The river still runs swiftly as it goes over the falls. The building itself has been vandalized and has some graffiti, but still makes for an interesting image among the trees. I love to think of its history, what this looked like in its heyday, what type of people worked there, and under what conditions they toiled..

Another Water Pool in Caverns

As I mentioned in a previous post there were many interesting reflecting pools niside the caverns. This in another one.

Cascading Folds

I loved the look of gentle folds cascading down from above. Same cavern as previous image.

These are very beautiful and rare. One section in the caverns were covered with these on the ceiling, but some were on the upper walls.

The Wooden Bridge

A quick shot of the wooden bridge that you'll see a closeup for in a post lower down. The water here was flowing really quickly with many people out in either kayaks or canoes.

Gazing upstream at the river from the wooden bridge. The air was so thick with humidity that you felt like you could cut it with a knife.

Stared Down by a Goose

 A very friendly goose started coming straight for me.

 He seemed to be trying to see what I was doing. He then turned ever so gently and stared straight at me.

Iris On The River

A warm humid day on the river. The river had overflowed onto the roads in many places from flash flooding. I came upon this small bunch of flowers. The only ones I would see all day.
