"The Dusty Trail"
I came to this path by accident. It looks to be a place where utility trucks must come to attend to the power, and telephone lines that run the length of this trail. I had been walking through the woods, and got a little lost. I ended up here, which helped me to find my way back. The interesting thing about this trail, is as I was walking down it, every few feet or so I came to mostly buried pieces of very old railroad ties laying just as if there had been railroad tracks there at one time. It makes me curious as to if there were or not. I plan to go back again sometime, and find more ties, count them, and the distance between them. It's kind of like uncovering history. So...story to be continued when I find out! Oh, by the way. When I saw all these power, and phone lines all I could think of was some lines from an old Glen Campbell song." I am a lineman for the county......" I kept singing that song the whole way back.
"Milkweed and Cattails"
As the summer season starts to wane I am trying to capture some of the essences of the feel of summer. Here in this image are assorted plants, but mostly Cattails, and Milkweed. These are located in a wetland area near a pond. The Cattails are so tall that you can't even see the pond at this time of year. I think the colors here make a nice compliment to the sky.
Early in the summer you can sit on the grass or a rock near the pond, and watch a myriad of birds fly from one place to another. Now at summers end there are many types of butterflies, they love the Milkweed!

"The Bridge is Out!"
On one of my nature walks recently, I walked many trails. As I came close to a pond that I usually cross on a nice wooden footbridge, I kept seeing trail detour signs, and yellow tape draped everywhere. Well when I see something like that it doesn't tell me take the detour. The first thing I think of is why is there a detour, what's going on! So I proceeded for another quarter of a mile or so, and came to what used to be the wooden footbridge. I felt like it would make a nice image.
Of course I couldn't cross the bridge, and actually had to go about a mile out of my way to get back to the car, but I'm glad I crossed the yellow line, and was able to get this shot!

"Pink and Blue Fireworks"
I took this image a few days ago of a gorgeous Pink Bromeliad. The way the plant and the colors were branching out,and bursting forth reminded me of fireworks. Truly an amazingly beautiful plant!
"Corn Plant Fan"
To me it seems that everywhere you look there are myriads of photo opportunities just up for grabs. I happened to be in an office building waiting for an elevator. I looked up at the huge skylight, and also noticed a corn plant close to me. I got down on the floor to try to capture as much of the skylight, and the plant as possible, and to allow the bright light though the leaves. The corn plant seems as if it is fanning our in every direction, hence the name Corn Plant Fan.

"Facing the Sun"
I have driven past this field of sunflowers all summer long, and each time I did I'd keep thinking to myself that I need to stop and get a few shots. Well today I finally did just that. The day was beautiful. The only problem was it was a tad windy. Maybe I'll go there again on a less windy day. You just can't have too many bright sunny sunflowers!
"Line up in the Corner"
I just had to slip this shot in. I always love lines, symmetry, and shadows as some of you may have noticed! In this image the late afternoon sun was making perfect lines on the deck straight from the corner. Great deep shadows! Mmm, lovin it!

"Flowers into the Sky"
These tropical flowers were hanging in clusters on vines in the conservatory. I just loved the color. I have no idea what they're called unfortunately. I was able to get this view from down on the first floor looking up to the second story capturing the flowers as they hung in bunches over a ledge. I was looking towards the upper side of the conservatory which as you can see has a nice view of the blue sky, and clouds. The light streaming through the flowers and leaves was just lovely too. You can see some of it in the shadows on the larger leaves, and the light coming through the edges of some of the petals of the flowers. Enjoy!

"Water Lily in Reflections"
This lovely flower is a pink waterlily that I discovered in the fish pond at a conservatory. Notice not just the flower itself but beside it, the reflection of the sky, trees, and the metal structures from the ceiling. There is also a nice little area of water that collected on the lily pad on the left side of this image.
Oh My Deer!
As I was walking though the woods I first spotted this lovely White Tailed Deer. After taking this shot, I saw it was actually a family of three. I got in several shots but this one, and the one below came out the best. I was totally surprised when I saw them, and they with me, because within moments they had all darted off further into the woods. A nice encounter!
