In an early morning walking around a local marsh/wetland, I was enthralled by the immense amount of bright yellow Goldenrod. In this image I shot from low to the ground to capture as much color as possible, and to still get in the marshlands, and trees behind it. Mosquitoes were buzzing, frogs were jumping into the water, flocks of Canada Geese were flying overhead, and bees were going from flower to flower. A lively place with some lovely color!
I have been wanting to get some shots in a local area containing every kind of sunflower, or false sunflower that I know of. I finally got the chance yesterday evening, about an hour before sunset. Here are just three of the many images I have. I hope you have a sunny, bright , colorful, happy Friday everyone!
I'm switching gears a little bit from the last few end of summer posts. While at a small fish pond filled with Japanese Koi, I shot this image. I loved the brightly colored Koi, but I liked the reflections of the lines, sky, and plants even more. The Koi were swimming so rapidly that it gave a nice distortion to the reflection!
This morning I made sure to get up early, and go to a spot on a hill that overlooks a wetland area, and some fields, to catch the sunrise. Well it turned out to be pretty cloudy, and there wasn't much of sunrise. There was however a nice change happening in the color of the landscape, especially with what I have always called Goldenrod. I have several more images of the area with varying plants, and landscapes. I'll post some later. I'll be really interested to see this hill, and wetland in the fall. Just from one day to the next we are having many color changes. I hope to see what's happening in your areas!
In continuing with the early signs of Autumn. I provide you with another berry shot. This one just really struck me with the colors not only of the berries themselves, but with the color change in some of the leaves, and how it all sets against the blue of the sky. Eye candy for sure!
As part of noticing the subtle changes that are leading up to Autumn. I found these gorgeous red berries hanging in a small cluster among bright green leaves. All are fire engine red except for two. So, they're not quite there yet, but give them a day or so, and they'll be caught up with the rest of the bunch. It's the tiniest of things that can brighten up our day!
What a lovely morning I had today! I went walking, and hiking around, and in the process discovered a nice large pond. I could see many signs today signaling the end of summer. Quite a few leaves were falling. Most of them yellow. A lovely brisk breeze was in the air. I spent quite a while here at this pond. I loved the reflections of the trees, and blue sky , in the water. There were many fish swimming around that I could see in the shallow areas. I hope to come back here again when the leaves are in peak color change!
