Arch Rock

This is a lovely natural rock formation on Mackinac Island. The view when you look down is breathtaking. When you look out from the top instead of down as I did in this image, you'll see the seemingly endless waters of Lake Huron. It's a wonderful area to visit!

"Soft Fall Meadow"

I was out looking for some fall color today. I didn't see very much, but I did come across this meadow that had quite a few different hues going on in it. The colors were more muted than vibrant. Hence the name soft fall meadow. I still think it makes a nice subject, but I'm hoping in the week or two to come that things will become more vibrant!

"Spray Falls"

A tall, but not very impressive waterfall in the Pictured Rocks area of Lake Superior. The rock walls lining this area are fantastic, and I will be sharing those images with you in later posts. Gorgeous day, beautiful water!

"Light Over Superior"

This has to be my all time favorite lighthouse! It sits on Lake Superior on an island that has only a handful of houses that even to this day have no running water, or electricity.
    In its heyday an entire family lived here, not just the keeper of the lighthouse. The family was a large one, they had twelve children! What a beautiful place to have grown up in, but at the same time quite cut off from the mainland!
    This certainly isn't what you typically think of when you imagine a lighthouse, but to me this one has amazing charm! I hope you enjoy it too!

"Where it Was"

 In Michigan's Upper Peninsula there are endless shorelines , piers, and lighthouses. This happened to be the first one I came to. The water was a fantastic color of blue, and oh so clear. What attracted me to this spot besides the gorgeous water, and clouds was the old wooden supports jutting out of the water from where an old pier used to be. The lighthouse also with its stark white paint, and red top made an impression. You can see a slight reflection of the lighthouse in the water.

This is a slightly closer view of the lighthouse and the surrounding collapsed and disappearing pier. If you notice the sky, and water here. You can get a feel for what a perfect day it was weather wise! Ahhh!

"Smooth"

An awesome morning at Burt Lake! Smooth water, fantastic sky, great weather. This time of year in Michigan is great for doing things outdoors. I just love it when the weather cools off!
