"Dizzy in the Pines"

Just picture yourself in the middle of a pine forest. Everywhere you look all you see are tall pine trees. Well that's where I was when I took this image, and many others from every angle.
This one had kind of a dizzying affect. Maybe it was because the previous ones were taken looking straight up, and I nearly fell over backwards LOL!
Imagine how it would be to stand there holding your arms straight out, looking up at all the trees, and spinning around in circles till your so dizzy that you fall down. There's something very fun, and freeing in that idea.
Think like a kid, they know how to see, and enjoy things from very different perspectives!

"Above Town Hall"

A shot looking up at a town hall with a weather vane on top. The photo is done in monochrome for a greater contrast between the sky and the building.

"Clouds Roll In"

A beautiful and chilly day today with cold temperatures tonight as the sun starts to dip below the horizon. The clouds roll in from the Southwest over Lake Michigan bringing with them a hope for a lovely sunrise in the morning.

"Stack Um Up"

We've had the most dreary, and totally rainy day here today, so I thought I would post a bright and colorful image that I took back in early October.
Near the river where you can rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boats in the summer, there were loads of kayaks of every color, stacked up and tethered together soon to be moved and stored for the winter.
I hope that if you've had a rainy dreary day wherever you are, this image will brighten your day!

"Stone Enclosed Reflections"

I posted this on G+ recently, but wanted to post it here also. This is from my last revisit to the red barn. I was looking at one of the windows in the fantastic stone foundation when I noticed that you could see light streaming in from another window.
I already knew I wanted an image of this, but that just sealed the deal. Then upon more inspection I could see a large bare branched tree, and blue sky reflected in the window also.
If you come in close you'll also notice the cobwebs, and assorted other things on the glass panes.
The sun was getting low in the sky when I took this. You can see that by the bright western sunlight coming in through the window inside. This part of the stone foundation is on the north side of the barn which made for nice lighting to bring out the colors in the stones. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

"Moody Textures"

When I saw this very large old tree with all its trunk and many branches full of wonderful age and texture, it struck me that it would make a nice monchrome moody image.
It brings three things to mind when I look at it. One is its age, and what it has witnessed in its lifetime. Another is a photo of times gone by like an old black and white cowboy movie. The last image it makes me see is an old drama from the 1960's called "Dark Shadows" if anyone is old enough to remember that.
Alas this fantastic aged tree is just that, and has lived a long life, and maybe will for another hundred years or  more!
