I would suppose that this time of year might be a strange time to post this image, but I came across it while looking for something else.
This image was taken in St. Ignace Mi, looking out onto Lake Huron. I found these large boulders to be really lovely, and wanted to photograph them with the water and sky. The shape and size of the greenery in with the huge rocks really attracted me to this spot. I didn't feel that partially blocking the view detracted from the scene, but rather it added to it.
I took this image in the late afternoon so quite a bit of shadow is on the boulders, but a tiny bit of light peeks through just enough to illuminate it's beauty. Enjoy!

"Time Takes its Toll"
Time has really taken a toll on this fantastic barn. I came upon it a month or so ago while driving down endless back country dirt roads. The whole barn has fallen into total disrepair by the passage of time. Some windows are boarded up, others falling out, and there is a massive amount of rust on the roof.
As you can see by the rows of what used to be a crop of some kind, that this must still be a working farm, so I assume this barn is still in use. I would sure love to get a look inside, and see what beautiful old treasures it might hold! I guess that may never happen, so I suppose that will be left up to my imagination!

"Cotton Ball Sky"
This top image was taken sometime in the summer. While on one of my usual nature walks I looked up, and noticed that the clouds looked like tons of cotton balls. I positioned myself between two trees to balance out all that cloud action, and took a few photos. The first image is as shot.
The next two I did in monochrome, the first of those in a simple black and white, the next with a slightly more dramatic look, and tone.
Just for fun, which one do you like best?

"Color it Amazing"
This image takes us back to the Fort Worth Water Gardens. For anyone who hasn't been there, it is a treat! Its quite a large place with more than one water area to experience.
The area where I took this image is my favorite place to go when it's really hot outside. As you can see from the slight shadows there is some amount of shade from the sun here! The trees are amazing, all lined up in a row, fantastic root formations all around, and sporting brilliant green leaves.
The water pool itself has such a cooling affect on the mind with its awesome shade of blue! Last but not least are the orange painted walls that have water continuously flowing down them. If you're ever in the area this is a must see, but I suggest doing it on a day that isn't 106 degrees outside!

"Berry Snowy"
We finally got our first snow of the season last night. It's not really a lot, but it's a good starter. I jumped outside this morning for a few shots. This berry was just staring at me. The sun at the time was pretty bright, so even with temps in the 20's there's a little snow melt happening. You can see that on the evergreen tips. I'll post a few more images later on. Enjoy! :)

"Winter Sunset"
Ok, so yes you're right! Technically it's not quite winter yet, but it feels as though it is. This is an image of a very cold and windy sunset against all the bare trees. I expect some snowflakes to be falling pretty soon. The clouds were moving very quickly as the north wind blew in. I'm looking forward to being able to get out and do some nice snowy photography soon.
As the winter months are quite long I may also be trying to do some experimenting with different types of photography. I guess we'll see how it all plays out as the season progresses, but for now I'm just anxious for those little white flakes to start falling from the sky!
