"Winter Lane"

Yes, we've been down this lane before. I love this place! I took photos here both in the summer, and fall. You can look back on the blog to see them if you'd like. I decided to do some winter images a few days ago. This is one of them. The next time I go there, the road will probably not be clear like it is here.
Our temperatures have gone down to normal winter temps now, so every flake of snow that falls will stick! I hope you are all enjoying great winter weather wherever you are!
Some people are already talking about being ready for Spring. What about you?

"Inn in Yellow"

Just picture taking a leisurely stroll down a quiet street where there are no cars. It takes you back in time a bit. This lovely Inn is the perfect place to stay if you want complete charm, and the feeling of stepping back in time to a slower paced and quieter life. Come in and stay a while. Maybe enjoy a cup of tea while sitting on the front porch. Breath in the fragrant scent of all the flowers that surround the white picket fence, and hang in lovely baskets around the porch. Relax and enjoy! There's no hurry here!

"Grand and Sprawling"

I love this old tree, and the way it looks with snow on the many sprawling branches seemed to to have a grand and stately flow! What do you think?

"Peaceful Snowy Cabin"

Continuing on with my walk in the snow yesterday. I took this shot of a cabin that I've taken images of earlier in the year. You can look back on the blog to see what it looks like during the summer from inside, and out.
It was quite a peaceful, and serene scene as I walked around.
It did also, get me thinking about how it must have been for the actual family of long ago living in a cabin like this. What winter would have been like for them. No place to really get warm.
It may seem charming looking at it from our modern day vantage point, but the reality was actually quite a harsh and challenging existence! It makes me thankful to have been born in a time when we have all the modern conveniences that we sometimes take for granted.

"Walking in a Winter Wonderland"

Well as I mentioned earlier. We finally got a bit of snow. I love winter!!! I took many walks at different locations today. These are just a few of the images from one of the places. This image is a bridge upon approach. I love the huge old tree on the right! I'm loving the sight it front of me!
Nearly at the bridge. Notice only one low hanging snow covered branch from the large tree can be seen now. There's a major winter wonderland past the bridge.
While standing on the bridge, just gazing out at the large stream, I could clearly see how beautiful the forest is with all of the tree branches covered with snow. I was totally freezing at this point, but really enjoying the beauty. I bet the water was totally freezing too! I hope you enjoy this little taste of winter!

"Over the River"

I just posted this on G+, so I thought I'd better give it a share here also. This is my #MonoMonday contribution over there.
This image was taken when fall had just gone past peak. It was a beautiful day. Crisp, cool, but sunny! This river divides just after the bridge, and goes in two opposite directions. When I saw this site the first words that came to mind were from the song "Over the river and through the woods...... "
Seemed to match the time of year! :)

"Fort Lookout"

Earlier this fall I visited an old fort. It was a raw, cold, windy, and rainy day so I wasn't able to take as many photographs as I would have liked. There were only a few places that I could stand without getting my camera and gear totally soaked. This area happened to be one of them.
As a lot of you know I love windows. Well this little lookout window through the wooden stockade of the fort  provided me with a nice view to the evergreen trees beyond the walls.
I would love to be able to go back to this area again when its not raining. There are so many great images yet to be had! I hope you can see the same beauty in this one, that I can see! :)
