So far this is my favorite lone tree. I came back to it several days ago to see how it looks so far in spring. Well as you can see there's not too much happening with the sprouting forth of leaves yet.
There are just barely visible changes on the tree itself, but the trees in the background have a little more going on with their tiny leaf shoots, plus the ground is starting to show signs of spring in the form of the dandelion!
I'll make a trip back here again in a few weeks to see how things have changed. Since this was a cornfield last year I'm wondering if there will be more corn planted this year, a crop rotation, or maybe even giving the soil a rest. Time will tell!

That's a fine old tree, handsomely stood. Have you ever wondered how a tree manages to create such a perfectly symmetrical shape despite all the kinks in its branches? And each type of tree has a different classic shape. Nature is astonishing.
