"School's Out for Winter"
A little winter snowfall made me want to make a revisit to the little red school house. It was still snowing at the time, and the sky was still heavy with more snow. For a change I decided to do this in black and white. It made sense because of the gray and white tones in the sky and scenery. I guess no school today!

"Winding Stream"
Last night the weather forecast predicted 4-6 inches of snow. Well as usual they were really off LOL!
We ended up with maybe 2-3 inches of very heavy wet snow instead.
I went out this morning while it was still snowing lightly, and got this shot of a stream deep in the woods. I've been wanting to get down to it for a while, but somehow never made the extra time and effort.
I suppose by most standards there's nothing particularly exciting about it, but to me, with the snow all around on the ground and the bare tall trees everywhere you can see, this little winding stream is quite beautiful!
I hope you're enjoying your little piece of winter wherever you are! :)

"Over the Hill"
This image made me really think "Over the Hill". In more ways than one. First of all this tree has seen better days, although I still love it's shape. The second is that this tree is actually over a hill. Most of the trunk is below this horizon.
So in essence this image should really be called "Over the Hill Times Two"! I decided to go monochrome with this because of the starkness of the tree's strange shape against the bright blue sky. Somehow it seemed more fitting. Enjoy!

"Simple Pleasures"
Sometimes just sitting by a river, gazing at a beautiful tree, watching ducks and geese swim by, enjoying the colors of the day, and the calmness of the water can be so wonderful. These are the simple everyday pleasures that we might forget about in our every day hurried lifestyles.
So take some time, stop to take in the beauty around you. It doesn't have to be any place fancy. Enjoy what you have, what's close to you. Beauty can be found everywhere, even in the simplest of places!

"Winter's Soft Reflections"
An image taken today of a railroad bridge over a river. The late February landscape of bare trees is all around. Some of the trees and bridge are reflected in the river.
The way it looks right now, it gives you the hope that spring is on it's way!

"The Sunburst" HDR
I know this looks like a repeat of last night's post. Well it is, sort of. I got some suggestions on last night's image, and I thought I'd try out part of what was suggested, and also doing the image in HDR since I had taken multiple shots. I think this gives the image a whole different quality, but I'm pleased with the results. See what you think.
