"Flores Amarillas"

An image of the beautiful fields of yellow flowers that last for a very short time in the Mid-west. I took this shot a couple of days ago, and now almost all of these fields have turned pretty much green.
This day was exceptional in feel. Cool, somewhat windy, clouds really heavy and stormy at times, but with an invigorating feel.
In this shot you can see the vastness of the field of yellow flowers which extends to the trees, and the cloudy tumultuous sky above.
An altogether great day in a field of flores amarillas!!

"Need a Fill Up"

In case you've been following me on 500px , I posted the upper portion of this vintage gas pump there a couple of days ago. This image here is the entire pump.
So beautiful in all it's old fashioned design, peeling pain and rust. I'm guessing from all the info I have gathered that it is probably from the 1920's. If anyone else has a better idea on the age I'd love to hear from you.
What is so amazing to me is how far we've come, and how much we've stayed the same. The metal nozzle is very similar to the one  we use today, as is the rubber hose. I guess everything else falls into the how far we've come category. I don't think that ten gallons would get us very far today, but it sure would cost a pretty penny!

"Rails Along the River"

I just took this shot a few days ago. These railroad tracks run along side a river, which you can't really see in this image LOL!
I went for an older feel with the color. For some reason I like the feel of the old days with train tracks!
I recently found some really cool tracks, but getting to them is going to be hard. Hopefully someday I can get a shot and put it up for everyone!

"The Eye"

Ok, I know this is really far out for me, but for fun I just decided to do a total wild abstract instead of the post I had initially planned to do.
I've had several different reactions to this image, with loads of ideas on what it looked like to them. My initial thought was alien eyeball. So here it is, in all it's weird and abstract glory. I present to you.
"The Eye"!!!!
BTW, don't worry, I won't make this a habit!  LOL!!!

"Forest Through the Trees"

This image is from a walk in a very hilly forest area just a few days ago. The trees haven't all gotten their leaves on them yet, but spring is starting to show. It was a beautiful bright sunny day, which interfered with this image somewhat, as I was shooting into the sun. The whole forest floor is still covered with leaves left over from last fall and were reflecting a large amount of light in the open areas. It will be interesting to come back here in the summer time to see how different it will be with much more foliage on the trees!
I got many other interesting nature images out here, and will do a separate post on that and put up several photos at the same time.
